so I know the feeling!

I was just out with binoculars but didn't see much. Too much light pollution, I think (I just tried my backyard)

5. I just setup my 80mm f/9 loaner out.

I can see Saturn (Planet on-a-Stick) and there is a bright point of light just to the south. The sky here in L.A. are a little hazy, but the point looks a little colorful so it might be Lulin

6. i saw it from Baltimore

in the parking lot by my apartment building! It was really easy to find. Just find Saturn, and it's very close to the south of it.
I needed binoculars to see it. Looked like a fuzzy blob. Cool!

8. Is that REALLY bright light in the Western night sky Saturn? Or is that the comet?

I wish I had even a small telescope to look at it closer. But that bright light looks to be a planet.

You're probably seeing Venus (see Sky and Telescope's This Week's Sky at a Glance)

It was huge and extremely bright.
