Indian moon mission eclipsed by Apollo 11 anniversary
India's successful lunar landing and continuing mineral exploration is especially sweet for a nation that numbers the moon among its gods.




While the world has been gripped by nostalgia for the Apollo 11 landing - the culmination of the first manned mission to the moon, which took place 40 years ago this week - India has quietly been completing its own lunar mission.

The sub-continental nation launched its voyage to the stars on October 22 last year, becoming the fifth to do so, after the USA, Russia, China and Japan..cont'd
