Archaeologists Claim They've Found Lost City Of Atlantis (VIDEO)
yet again....

Well, at least this time there is a video -

Undersea archaeologists have found the ruins of an ancient city on the bottom of the Caribbean Sea, and researchers claim that it is the fabled and lost city of Atlantis. The satellite photos do show something that could be a city, and the researchers believe that what they've found would predate the pyramids of Egypt. Indeed they claim to be able to make out a pyramid and other city-like structures from the satellite photos.

The archaeologists have so far refused to divulge their identities or the location in the Caribbean. They say they are raising money for an expedition to confirm their findings.

3. ROFLMAO....
OMG! Those pics REALLY don't look like architecture. Frankly, they look more like photoshopped circuit board pics or height maps based on rectangular functions, but no way are they satellite images of the ocean bottom in the Caribbean.

Surprise! Underwater cities, Atlantis, and all that jazz

By Jes Alexander on December 17, 2009

WASHINGTON, DC (Herald de Paris) - What fun! our underwater story has made it all the way to the Huffington Post. To some, that’s like buying a Bedazzler to make your dress for the Queen’s Ball. We’re going Switzerland on this one. Regardless, I wanted to reply over there, but Ariana just couldn’t offer me enough word count. So I’m responding here:

Hi Huffpo.

Thanks for picking up this story and not mentioning where it originated. Stellar work. Thanks especially for proving our point with this story .. let me explain.

9. Good find. The article did, indeed, sound like an amateur's attempt to get funding
by sensationalizing it. He's saying that's the only way to get funding/attention. Really?
I believe him that the costs of such an expedition is prohibitive for the average person (or scientist) and that no one in the field of science wants
to open themselves up to ridicule without first doing some fundamental explorations. However, it doesn't seem to me that this backward, sensationalizing method creates anything but doubt and suspicion. I'm sure there are plenty of professional people in the field that would be interested if it seemed at all legit so we'll see if anyone bites.

I recall hearing about a sunken city near Cuba that National Geographic was
supposed to be investigating (about 10 years ago). It too seemed a bit sensationalized but Nat. Geo's involvement gave it some clout. But it seems that nothing was ever heard of it again.

I've no doubt there are sunken cities and ports. And with the effects of global warming and ocean rise upon us now, we'll find it even easier to ponder the reality behind the myths and speculation.

10. The amount of snark in the MSNBC video is very appropriate
Speaking as an actual archaeologist, it amuses me to no end that some lunatic can misinterpret pixels on a digital image and claim to have found an underwater city. It also pisses me off to no end that the media will call these people "Archaeologists". Any legitimate archaeologist would not act in this manner.

What a joke.
