Each one of us, our individual lives, will count very little towards the end outcome. But at the same time, it can also remind us that we ultimately are stewards of the planet we call home in a collective sense. We have advanced enough to gain such a position. Whether we live up to that responsibility is yet to be seen, but there we are nonetheless.
Personally, I think the odds are stacked against us. We are more likely to fail than to succeed. We simply change habits too slowly, especially bad ones. I'm trying to be a realist in my scope, not a pessimist. History doesn't show us in a favorable light here.
