Guns Germs and Steel comes to PBS in July
I just got my July program guide in the mail from my local PBS affiliate, and I'm very excited to learn that they're going to run a three-part program based on the bestseller by Jared Diamond. I thought this book was amazing, and I can't wait to see the show.

Official Website launch is June 30. The three-part TV program starts July 11. (But it doesn't start until July 12 here in DC -- Check your local listings for showtimes.)

From the website: "Based on the multi-million selling book by renowned academic Jared Diamond, the television series and Web site will take you on a 10,000 year journey through history,across every continent of our world."

His latest, Collapse, is also really good.

3. I haven't read that one yet.
I did read The Third Chimpanzee, which was also a great read.
