Puppy Mill Dealers
Edited on Thu Jan-20-05 12:41 PM by SemiCharmedQuark
Check out these sites and see what you think. I thought puppy mills were getting the recognition they deserve and being avoided. Clearly with sites like this they are more popular than ever. I came across some sites that even have a PayPal button to "Buy Me Now".

www.thepuppycorner.com

www.mylittlepuppy.com

www.findmyperfectpuppy.com

I was going to post this in the Lounge, but thought better of it. Deciding to bring a companion animal into your home is just like an adoption. You're bringing what essentially is a helpless being into your care. I wish people would treat it more like adopting a child than buying a new pair of shoes.

Look at one of their disclaimers:

"If for whatever reason you decide not to purchase the puppy after confirming the purchase, it will be immediately available for someone else to purchase and a 25% restocking charge will remain on your credit card."

1. That is sickening.
Did you read the WARRANTY?????? WHY do people do this to animals???

The first two sites were totally different. On each of them, I clicked on Boxers. They both had the same two dogs pictured, but different prices.

I emailed the first site and told them I was interested in a white boxer. I want to see what they say. My white boxer came from boxer rescue. Many breeders DROWN the white puppies at birth, because they consider them a mark on the litter  I am anxious to see if they reply, and what they say if they do. I will keep you updated.

Should we send these links to PETA or HSUS?

4. Look at this:
Herbie, Marlton, NJ:
Dear Kay and Charlie, thank you so much for the sheer ease it has been in dealing with the both of you. I will admit that it took me a little research in finding your site, but it was well worth the "hunt." ...Anyway, it is a pleasure to be dealing with you and rest assured the Chi will receive a lot of love and attention. Please be sure to send a few business cards.....I have friends who always seem to get in on my most recent hobbies, so I may be able to get you a couple more sales. Thanks again, -Herbie

7. Some people still think of having a companion animal as a "hobby"
Collecting model trains is a hobby. Caring for another living thing is not.

3. I am going to post these links at all of my animal rescue groups.
When they see on-line puppy millers like these, they rally to get the Web sites shut down and have been quite successful so far.

13. Yes, please let us know if we can do anything to help.
I'm absolutely appalled. I have seen other websites where you can buy a puppy online, but never one so big. With puppies up to three thousand dollars apiece, this one seems like it's going to be harder to shut down.

At least they didn't say they killed tehm, but still just as infuriating.

Hi -

Answering your questions... we get our puppies from selected breeders (will explain further over the phone) and currently, we do have 2 males and one female, WHITE Boxer, 8 week old pups that are available for sale (we do not often have white Boxer pups).

These pups are priced at $1,100. If you are interested, please forward your telephone number today (now, if possible). Upon receipt, we will try to get some pictures for you and email these pictures to you later today. Are you interested in a male or a female?? Please get back with us ASAP. Thanks!

Kay & Charlie

8. "selected breeders"
Um...yeah.

Did you see that they are selling mixed breeds for almost 700 dollars? Why would anyone purposely breed mixed breeds when there are so many mixed breed puppies in need of adoption.

9. Because they are greedy and could care less, as long as they make a buck.
 This makes me sick.

10. I think we should all work to get these online puppy mills
shut down. If we contact their ISP and tell them that this is an illegal puppy mill Web site, maybe we could get some action. There is a forum that I am a member of that specializes in shutting down fake bank sites and other illegal sites. I will post there and see what action I can take.

14. There is a program I could get that would shut these sites down.
Edited on Sun Jan-23-05 10:52 AM by RebelOne
But, alas, it is illegal and I could get sued. I think the best thing would be for everyone to bombard them with e-mail complaints. I have already written to all of them.

16. No responses, but I doubt that I will.
How will they be able to justify being a puppy mill?
