One of my hard case little boys is in a new home tonight. |

Wish him luck!
My rescue took in this little shepherd mix in September, right in the middle of the hurricanes. He was emaciated, malnourished...a mess. At 6 months old, taken to an emergency clinic in the middle of the night, he had no shot. Our animal services would euthanize him for his problems (they do about 30,000 a year). Our local shelter...well, they don't take "strays" anymore. So, we stepped in. A couple months of good food and care, and he was good to go. Another couple months of socialization and training (he was a little iffy around men), and he was ready for today. He's with a nice young couple in an affluent part of town. He has a big sister who's a mastiff and really digs him.
So, anyway, just wanted to share with my veg/animal loving pals (I didn't post this in The Lounge, cuz someone might jinx it, even not meaning to), and ask for positive thoughts for the little guy (his name's Ru). I hope the adoption sticks.

I love hearing happy endings for mistreated animals...so often it's not. :(
Please keep us updated when you hear anything. That's just great! :bounce:

Starting a new life is disorienting but thank goodness he's had caring helpers on the way. Good for both of you, and the couple too.
