I've gone Vegan........again. |
|
I was Vegan for 5 years back in the 90s. However, It became very difficult to eat out....I fell off the horse. ;) For the last 2 months I've had no dairy products and I feel great. I've got to stick with it this time. Anyone else find it hard?

Believe it or not, I was just going through old v/v/ar posts looking for something, found a couple of your old posts and wondered what you were up to!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I had no trouble when I lived in Seattle (okay, I confess, I worked at a vegan restaurant for a lot of that time, so it was effortless.) I moved back to the Boston area and found myself SOL. Vegan is hard there; it's pretty unsupported outside of Cambridge and Brookline...as in, hard to eat out, hard to find (and afford) groceries, lack of community.
I'm back in Seattle, now. Phew.
edit: new and interesting spelling

3. First, great to hear from you again. Second, good on you for |

going vegan........again. Thirdly, no, I don't find it to be difficult.
Tampa isn't the most vegan friendly city in the world, but, I love to cook and I have 3 or 4 decent health food stores to supply me with my grocery needs.
As for eating out, I go Thai or Vietnamese. There are a few other places that I know of that have strictly vegan fare, or I can challenge a chef to make me something original, which they tend to LOVE. I've had them come out from the kitchen, entree in hand, to see me try it. They beam with pride when they can break out of the same-old same-old and flex their culinary muscles.
