Mavis is gone.
Jen went to my parent's house and took her.
They weren't going to make a big scene, so they gave her back. My mom said she was excited to see her.

Apparently, The first thing Jen said was "Oh Mrs. X I am so sorry, Megan got mad at me and she hasn't even called me today and...." My mom cut her off, put her hand up and said "Jen, I don't want to hear it. As for Meg not calling you, maybe the fact that your boyfriend called her a fucking bitch has her a little miffed."

Now, you have to know my mom to understand why this is so funny/shocking. I have heard her say that word maybe twice in 25 years. She said Jen's eyes and mouth popped open and mom just turned around and walked away. Apparently, my dad didn't say "hello or kiss my ass" as my mom says.

So, She has Mavis back, thinks she will blame me and everything will be fine.

I also spoke to her mother this morning. She said Jen just said I wasn't going to come to the wedding and left it at that. I told her mom everything. I am washing my hands of it. If that kid hurts Mavis and she turns around and eats his throat, I hope she doesn't call me to bail her out of jail again.

I just hope Mavis is alright.

Thanks veggies....you guys are awesome. :grouphug:

1. I've been following the saga lurkingly.

Mavis is fine. She looks like she will defend herself if she can't take it -- IF she even gets hurt.

2. Oh, wow.
I'm really sorry to hear that Mavis is back in a bad situation, but at least now there are a few more people aware of the problem who might watch over it a little more carefully. You did what you could and we're all proud of your efforts and compassion.

I'm so glad to hear that your mom and dad made sure that your "friend" knew that she wasn't getting away with anything--I hope your "friend's" mom will pay closer attention to the direction her daughter's life is taking.

Good for you for walking away. It completely sucks, but this person has been a drain on you for long enough. "F you and F your mother" would have done it for me.

I hope Mavis is alright, too, and I hope you are. Good luck.

3. Dammit.
Okay, let's look at the bright side. Mavis is happy with her "pack" blissfully unaware of the stupidity rampant in her family. Maybe they'll realize the crap they've done wrong, especially by her, and change...or at least be more mindful of Mavis and the kid. Hopefully, you can keep tabs on Mavis through Jen's mother.

Plus, you've lost yourself a psychic vampire. She's been sucking the very life outta you for a long time, it seems.

Good on you and your parents for looking out for Mavis. Sorry that this has been such a draining, trying time for you.

Big

7. Yes, she has been sucking the life out of me.
There is a song called "time is running out" by Muse. It reminds me of this.

Anyhoo, thanks flvegan. You know how much I appreciate everything.

8. Thanks flamingyouth
It is sad, I just hope that Mavis comes out okay. Unlike me, she can't say enough is enough. :(

Thanks...

9. Animals are so stoic.
They just keep taking and taking some more. I know that Mavis will always have a soft spot in her heart for you after all you've done for her. I wish there were more people like you in the world.

10. I'm am terribly sorry about Mavis, & hope for the best for her,
but I think it is good to rid yourself of this 'friend.' She will likely continue to use & abuse people & animals & you do not need that in your life. Life is too short to spend with people who drain you and take advantage of you.

Megan, I am so sorry you have had to go through this.

11. ARGH.
This reminds me of the way some women are about guys. They couldn't give a rat's ass about someone until somebody *else* shows interest in them, then all of the sudden he's all kinds of desirable and they've GOT to have him! She only saw the value in her dog when she saw how much you and your family cared about her. I hope you managed to wake her up a bit, or as much as possible, and that she continues to value Mavis as a reminder of you -- since she's not going to have you anymore.

I'll bet she's the competitive type too. The kind that always has to "win" in every situation. :eyes:

12. You did your best. Blessings to you and Mavis.
There is only so much you can do to help people and the ones they love. You made the world a better place for that sweet dog, even if just for awhile, so you made the world a better place for us all.

14. I have been busy (on a trip) & just saw your post
about Mavis. Your mom was a real hero w/ her statement. You have such a great heart, and I know you tried your best to do what was right. If she ever gives up on Mavis again I hope she gives you an opportunity to try to help find her a home. You will always do the animals right, a true guardian! Thank you so much for your caring, and sharing.
