Anyone else use Method products?
I am in LOVE!

I saw them at Target and noted they were animal and environment friendly - came home and it looks like Method has won all sorts of awards from PETA for being very animal conscious.

I've started using them and absolutely love them! I've started exclusively using their numerous products: Method window wash, daily shower spray, dishwasher cubes, laundry detergent, stainless steel cleaner, wood cleaner, hand soap, body wash, and cleaner wipes - they're awesome! And all of their products smell absolutely divine with scents like french lavender, mango mint, almond, and pink grapefruit.

Anyone else using Method's stuff and as in love with them as I am?

1. I have seen it, but I use Seventh Generation.
Maybe I will give it a try since it is so highly recommended! :hi:

2. Ah, yes...
My grocery store doesn't have them though - I'd previously been going to the store 10 minutes out of my way for them (anything is better than buying P & G).

4. I also use Seventh Generation, but will check out Method products
at Target. Target is a lot closer than the place I buy Seventh Generation products.

5. No, but I went to their site to check them out. Looks like a good...
..responsible product. http://www.methodhome.com/

On a side note, their bottles are designed by Karim Rashid! An added bonus since he's one of my favorite designers... http://www.karimrashid.com/

9. Their "Wood for Good" cleaner and daily shower spray are my favorites :)
I love their dishsoaps, too - especially the design of the bottles :) Their Wood for Good wood cleaner is great - it gives your wood furniture a great rich semi-gloss finish. Plus it smells awesome, as do all their products. Their ylang ylang daily shower spray is also wonderful - really, all their products are!

7. I use the laundry stuff
Detergent, dryer sheets, softener, and the daily shower spray. I haven't seen the hand soap. I must not be looking in the right spot

I'm VERY pleased with their products. They work well, smell good, can be bought at any Target, and are no more expensive than the other stuff.

10. I'd never heard of that.
But if you can get it at Target, that will help me immensely. I'll have to check that out.

14. And...
They aren't any more expensive than any of the other household cleaners/soaps/laundry stuff. My Target carries all their products - I think every Target has at least the laundry detergents and hand soaps.

15. Soap was a big one for me.
That just seemed to day-to-day to order online. And shaving cream something I'd also like to have easy access to.

Thanks for the heads-up, though. This is exactly why I like this group.

18. Yep! It was brand new this week.
I got the mango mint and the cassius flower. They both smell divine!

Now if only they would make shampoo and conditioner - everything in that section is P & G...

23. Hey smbolisnch!

:hi:

I've had my hands full with a litter of foster kittens-one of which came down with Panleukapenia and died (thread in the pets group) :-( ) Since then I've been consumed with disinfecting everything in the house so that I don't lose her sisters. Does anyone know of a good way to disinfect areas that can't be bleached? (Fine oriental rugs,etc.-thought I'd ask since this is a cleaning product thread).

As for the cleaning, I am not sure....maybe you could call the manufacturer of the carpet? Good luck. Again, I am so sorry about the kitty. :(

26. Are you sure Target is red?
I heard they are more on the blue side, especially in how they treat their employees. And isn't it owned by the Dayton family - one of whom is a Dem senator?

27. Someone had posted it as a "red" company in the economic activism
and progressive living forum. I'll have to do some research to find out how they came by that information.

29. oh....but I think there are more things to consider
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 01:33 PM by Beaverhausen
I will try and find the info about their treatment of employees. That is something I think is important to take into consideration, too.

For instance the company I work for - huge multinational media corp - would look red but lots of employees are dems, the heads of the division I work for donate to dems and they treat us really well.

ok- here it is:

31. see- isn't that weird?
If you go through the links there you see just who was donating money.
for instance Castle Rock lists Rob Reiner as the only "donor." Reiner was actually Howard Dean's campaign chair here in So Cal.

the head of time warner - Richard Parsons - is a repub but most others in the Corp aren't.

19. I bought some Method products at Target yesterday.
I bought dishwasher cubes, all-purpose cleaner, daily shower cleaner, and quick wipes - cucumber and pink grapefruit. So far the only product I've tried is the dishwasher soap, and it works great.

20. I've been using "Earth friendly" products, but have switched to
a number of Method products recently; I bought a laundry set for $10 and I just love it; one dryer sheet freshens the whole closet! And the packaging is much smaller than that of the Earth Friendly products, which is something that I really like. I only wish that they carried their own bleach; I've been using gallons of the stuff since one of my foster kittens died of Panleukapenia.

32. I just got some today
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 01:48 AM by LeftyMom
target had a 4 pk in a little carrier for $7.99. I got the lavender pack . So far I've tried the wipes (LK used them to clean the front of the dishwasher, then got bored and went to watch noggin) and the all purpose claning spray, both worked well. The all purpose spray broke up the soap scum and body funk on my bathtub, which was great because I was dreading scrubbing it off with salt and baking soda like I normally do.

Then I washed my hands with the hand soap. It smelled nice and foamed up better than the Dr Bronners or Kirk's I normally use, which is good because they're also the culprits in the aforementioned soap scum ring.

Oh, I also got the ylang-ylang shower spray. I had to buy a new shower curtain today (that's why I was at Target) because my old one got moldy, so if I don't have any mold on there and the tub stays clean we're golden.

I haven't tried the dish liquid yet. When my current box of Trader Joe's dish powder is toast I'll buy the cubes, since TJ's is on the veggie shit list right now and I need to find an alternative anyhow.

Edit: I forgot the most important thing! The starter pack had a little packet with coupons in it! I :loveya: coupons!

I love the smell of the ylang-ylang shower spray. I am a total Method junkie now - I use their entire line of stuff and am so impressed with all of it.

And yes, all the coupons they give out are also very awesome :)

34. MMmmm....yeah.
Ylang-ylang and sandalwood are aphrodisiacs, as well as relaxants. (Sounds kind of contradictory, doesn't it?)

I remember back in the day you could only get aromatherapy oil at Natural Food stores. I was hooked on the Aura Cacia brand, especially the ylang-ylang and sandalwood one. Now you can buy them drugs all over the place. :hippie:

Target was one of my favorite places to shop when I lived in Oregon. Don't have any here, though.
