Saw these on the shelf at Safeway yesterday, but I don't want to try them w/out hearing from others.

1. I'd never heard of them until you mentioned them.
But when I looked it up, that company's been around for about a hundred years! And they started making canned tofu in 1933. Wow.

3. I've never seen them
Sorry.

How is it going, by the way? I hope you're feeling well and eating well!

5. meh
getting more varied protein sources in there, though i have yet to cook anything

as for feeling well - meh, i am sensing no difference whatsoever, think i am just consuming too many calories and still not enough fresh vegetables. my brand of vegetarianism seems to be strictly no meat, and eat veggies if someone hands them to me fully prepared.

i'm a lazy slob!

7. It may take a while.
When I was younger I could tell a big difference in the way I felt within days of changing my diet. Now I don't feel much different after four months, but I'm seeing positive changes with some of my health issues so I'll probably feel a lot better, eventually. I was just too lax a little too long. Or too self-destructive, more like.

Other people have said I'm looking better, though, and have noticed that I'm losing weight. At my last visit my doctor told me I was "beautiful" and he's never been that effusive! He said that whatever it was I was doing, keep doing it, just so long as it was legal, moral, and ethical. (Ha. You betcha it is.) I just smiled. I'm not going to tell him until *after* my blood tests next month. When I shock him with my great cholesterol he'll have no choice but to agree I'm doing the right thing. He's pretty cool, though. I think he'll be fine with it.

Yeah, I only eat maybe one fruit or vegetable a day. So I'm lazy like that too. :)

4. I haven't seen Loma Linda since I was a kid
but it seems I remember liking them. Many local stores here carry similar products by Worthington, some of which are very good. My favorites by Worthington are the "Big Franks" hot dogs, which are far superior to any other veggie dog I have ever had, "Choplets", which you can use to make great veggie chicken-fried steak and lots of other things, and "Multigrain Cutlets". The three I mentioned are vegan, although many of their other products are not. I know a lot of vegetarians shy away from fake meats, but they can certainly make the transition easier and they're a good source of protein that's quick and easy to prepare. I say try them!
