10. Don't know how I could have done this more than once, but
when I have a big oven mitt on my hand to pull something out of the oven and with it still on go to grab something off the stove and the mitt catches fire AND I'm trying not to drop the pot or skillet on myself.

11. I'm transferring something boiling to the sink and cat tries to trip me.
In the old house, the stove and sink faced each other and Fuzzball was continually trying to twine around my ankles while I pivoted with the pasta pot. More than once near scaldings of the cat were averted by a near scalding of me.

Now, the sink is 3 feet to the left of the stove. I can pretty much guarantee that one of us is going to get burned.

And yes, he's been burned before. He's a Short Bus Kitty and does not have much in the way of long (or short) term memory.

12. i had one yesterday (Ms Hollandaise strikes again) I had some
Edited on Wed Sep-28-05 08:29 PM by AZDemDist6
sweet apple/chicken sausage i needed to use up so decided to make some pasta and come up with a (non red) sauce for it.

had some tomatoes that were going bad, so i threw those in with some EVOO and red onion and shredded carrots. it needed something so I added some Mrs. Dash and a splash of balsamic vinegar

it still wasn't right so i took a chicken bouillon cube and 1/2 cup of water and crushed it up

hhhhhmm still not right, added a couple teaspoons of sugar

yikes! too sweet, add juice of 1/2 lemon

still needs something, add 1/2 tsp of garlic, better, add some basil, better, add some italian seasonings, salt and pepper

pretty good now, let it cook down toss with the bowties and some shredded romano cheese

WOW that came out GREAT!

 and i'll never be able to do it again
