OK, I'm a big fan of Omaha Steaks. Their beef is about as good as I've ever found for home consumption. Plus, there's a store not far from us, so we save on shipping charges, which are outrageous.
Now, there's a sale there starting today - I think the collapse of the Atkins Diet has contributed to their frequent sales - and I'm going to stock up on their burgers, which are divine. But, I want to fix Sloppy Joes with them, crumbling them up, and I realize that I've never used a recipe, but I really would like to know if any of you good folk have one, or how you fix yours.
I suspect there's a range of tastes here, so thanks in advance.
(AZD, Empress told me she has a sharpened turkey baster for disciplining us. Don't tell her I told you, OK?)

Here's generally what I do to make sloppy joes:
brown hamburger, then add the following to the pan (I degrease first if there's any fat):
a can of chopped tomatoes (could be the Mexican style if I have them) chopped onion some catsup a tiny bit of BBQ sauce for a tiny bit of smoky flavor finely chopped celery leaves some worcestershire sauce some chili powder sometimes I add frozen sweet corn a spoonful of Better Than Bouillon Beef
Add a half cup or so of water and simmer for half an hour or so.
Not brilliant, but it's just sloppy joes. That would be a good dish to experiment with. Mushroom and dill sloppy joes? Greek style sloppy joes? Hmmm.

This is more complicated than anything I ever made. Sounds good. I'm gonna try it tomorrow - football fare.
Thanks so much.
