How do I cook frozen lobster tails?
One of hubby's clients sent us a gift pack of surf and turf. I've defrosted the filets - do I need to defrost the lobster tails before I boil them? How long do I boil them? I've never cooked lobster tails before.

TIA for your help.

1. are they already red? or still grey/brown?
red means they are already cooked and just need to be defrosted and steamed a bit

if they are grey they will need to be cooked but from a defrosted state. it's extremely easy to overcook any shellfish which makes them tough and rubbery :puke:

either way, I'd defrost them first........

2. Per my husband, who cooks all the seafood in this house, you
have to first defrost the tails, then "broil" them. You only boil whole lobsters.
He's a fine lobster cooker, BTW.
Hope that helps!

4. broiled! yummmmm
# Brush lobsters meat with a mixture of melted plain or garlic butter and oil; salt and pepper.
# Preheat broiler until really hot.
# Arrange lobsters halves onto a baking sheet, shell down; broil for 12 to 15 minutes, until done.
# Serve lobster halves in shells, garnished with parsley and lemon segments.
