Any mushy food ideas for H2S? |
|
He finally got his tooth pulled, and he can't eat anything crunchy. He can eat things like eggs or even pasta -- tonight I'm making him French toast.
(And please give him a few "poooor baby's" while you're at it! ;))

1. Awwww, poor H2S! That's a heckuva diet you're on! |
|
Let's see; tapioca pudding, flan, oatmeal, chicken soup, or most any kind of soup for that matter, soft-boiled eggs mixed up with lightly toasted bread (the eggs will soften the bread), milk shakes!, ice cream, rice pudding, macaroni salad, cole slaw, cooked spinach, and baby food! I hope you get to feeling better soon, H2S, but I know you're in good hands! :hi:

|
and make all those nerve ends quiver! (if he gets a caffine headache, just make sure to add cold milk to the shots so they are tepid)
pudding is my comfort food and since he can eat pasta, he's got his comfort food huh?
hope he feels better soon, give him a hug from all of us huh? :grouphug:

with the chicken cut up very small, served over rice or noodles. It's rich, filling and comforting.

and I know your real pasta recipes beat mine hands down....but for Fast Fast relief (of hunger while wife is too busy passing out sympathy to spend a lot of time in the kitchen) try the 10 minute solution....1 box Pasta Roni angel hair pasta primavera...prepared as per pack but cut back lightly on water....add 1 7-8 ounce can of tuna/chicken/turkey shredded,a pinch of mixed Italian herbs, a can of Campbell's cream of...whatever goes with the meat,a cup of frozen peas, and about a half cup of parmesan...It ain't love but it ain't bad-my MOM thinks that IS pasta primavera...Easy,cheesy and allows more time for TLC while you can get it...Best of luck,Cat

7. Little Brother, (who had his jaw wired for a couple months)... |
|
Said that at first he survived on KFC gravy, instant mashed potatoes, and biscuits softened in gravy...said it gets boring after the first month but a little comfort food with a little extra pepper and creamery butter on top made it tolerable...Plus I'll add my H2B Awwww....

8. Poor H2S... how about banana bread? |
|
10 Oz flour, 3 mushy bananas, 2 tsp baking powder, 4 oz sugar, 2 tsp baking soda, 3 TB melted butter, 3 TB applesauce, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 cup yogurt.
Blend until just moistened (muffin method) and bake in a greased loaf pan 45 to 50 minutes, until probe thermometer reads 190.
Cool.

I had extensive oral surgery done a month ago and I'm just now trying some crunchy stuff. I ate a lot of yogurt, egg and ham salad, soups and scrambled eggs. Poor H2S.

I would suggest a nice warm parmesan risotto. Nice and easy on the teeth, very comforting, very filling.

12. Cream of Wheat or Malt o Meal with a bit of butter, |
|
brown sugar and half and half, keeps the strength up up breakfast time, or there is always biscuits and gravy. I love the frozen flaky biscuits, just about as good as homemade and easy.

The homemade kind, not Kraft box. Best part is you can put in any kind of cheese you like.
Milkshakes would be good too. Though, today, you are probably feeling pretty good.

18. Awwwwwhh. So sorry H2S. Try some leek and potato soup |
|
or scalloped potatoes with cheese on top. What I would miss most in a soft diet is raw onions and garlic, but even cooked, it's better than none at all. There's a frozen raspberry sorbet that I used to get in the summer--can't remember the brand--but it's got a ton of flavor and is extra-good mixed with fresh peaches, but I bet would be great with vanilla ice cream or yogurt.
