Anybody have a favorite Savory / Spiced Pecan Recipe?
I'm also wondering what would work with this amazing Smoked Salt a lovely DUer gave me.
Not great with spice combos, any tips what would work good with pecans, and or the smoke, and what wouldn't?
Thee nuts are expensive, I don't want to mess them up!
TIA

1. What sort of smkoed salt is it?
Your post prompted me to Google "smoked salt" - and wow! There's a lot of great flavored salts out there. I had no idea. I even found a place that carries a truffle salt.

Is your salt sort of powdered? I'm thinking of the salt that gathers at the bottom of salted nut tins. I love that stuff! It's not granular but very fine.

2. It's Welsh Oak Smoked salt, they are crystals- medium to large flakes- but
very easy to crumble or crush fine . It came from here:

along with some AMAZING parmasean pepper bread, a peasant bread, wonderful olive oil, goulda and chocolate.
It was quite a gift. Their bread is unbelievably good. Zingermans rocks!
Anyway, the brand is Halen Mon, I've heard their plain is very good also, but I love this stuff.
Do you think it would be good with cayanne pepper? I don't know if it would need onion or garlic, too.

Smoked would kick it up the perfect notch for me. So I shouldn't offer advice. Maybe you could do a small batch.

I got a small bag of salted pecans at a roadside place in Florida and they were so good. The delicate texture makes them hard to resist.

Edit: Thanks for the name of the company, btw!!!
