Anyone interested in participating in a Crafts group?
I like to make a lot of the gifts I give and am always looking for new ideas. I also love sharing ideas and projects. If you are interested, please check in. We need 10 STARS to reply.

1. I'm interested!
I like to crochet but I've done a few other crafts here and there, such as counted cross-stitch. I'd like to learn to knit and I have a "learn-to-knit" kit all ready to go when I get finished with my current afghan. And my mother gave me a Marine scrapbook to put together for my son so I could use a few tips when I'm ready to get to work.

Thanks! :yourock:

2. Crafts? not really, But I would be interested in a sewing/repair/self
suffiency kinda group

I am doing more and more stuff my self (hair cuts, dog grooming, clothing and furniture repair etc) that I used to "hire out"

if the group was more expansive than just "craft" stuff I think it may appeal to more folks

Perhaps folks in the Economic group would be interested in this too

4. I believe sewing and self sufficiency things would be a part
of what I had in mind. Perhaps I did not title it well.

Any ideas on what to title it? I would really like to see enough response to get this going.

5. How about "Crafts/DIY Group?"
Or should "Do-It-Yourself" be a group of it's own? I'm thinking of decorating and remodeling that many of us are into. In fact, my husband is a remodeling contractor so every home we've lived in has been one big (unfinished) remodeling project!

14. Cool!
I love DIY projects. I tiled my kitchen countertop and backsplash two years ago which was my most involved project to date.

3. Sounds good to me.
I'm a decorative painter and have been attending classes for about four years. I'm giving mostly items I've painted as Christmas gifts this year. I prefer the primitive styles with antiqued and fly-specked finishes. Hopefully there will be some interest in a crafts group.

11. I would!
I do 'vintage' sorts of embroidery, other than that I'm not very crafty. (Craft stores mystify me!) But I'd love to learn and share patterns and stuff.

Now we need to write a mission statement. How about if I start.

The purpose of this group is to increase our self sufficiency by learning new and improved methods of home improvement, cost saving crafts and other DIY projects.

sorry, not very good, but maybe a start.
