Damn you, Costco. Damn you.
They now sell these in 30 oz packages for eight bux.

Four bux a pound.

They taste wonderful. They're as perfect a dried fruit as I have ever experienced. They're far worse than peanuts in their ability to prevent you from exercising discretion and restraint with respect to the quantity consumed. Theyb are the perfect way to eat the perfect fruit. They taste just like the best fresh you've ever eaten ... just less juicy and more concentrated.

Damn you, Costco.

Damn you.

2. I love these mangos!! Went to Costco last week and spent way beyond
the budget. Couldn't help it. Still have to try the canned salmon. Salmon prices are escalating here, due to the severe limits on fishermen this year.sigh I love fresh wild salmon.

3. Hmmm. I'm going to look for reasonably sized packages
in the Oriental supermarket near me. This is perfect for me since I'm allergic to mangoes and can't justify buying a whole one just to watch 3/4 of it rot (unless I want to chow down and be miserable for a week after).

It never occurred to me that dried mangoes would be very good. I can see some rehydration, a little minced jalapeno and cilantro, and I'd have a very serviceable mango salsa for my broiled fish.

The trip to the Oriental market is overdue, anyway.

4. they've been carrying them for some time out here....
I don't buy them because they're like candy and I know I'll eat them too quickly. They'd be great on a bike tour, when I'm burning 5000 calories a day and can't stuff food into my mouth fast enough, but they're not good to have around the house for snacking!

7. Note to any H2S enablers...
I DID have to physically prevent him from buying a large jar of Jelly-Belly's. The mangoes (or "mangonies," as he calls them) were a compromise.

Do not encourage him in his indulgences. He is difficult enough.

8. If, one day, you come across some dried kiwis sitting next to those...
KEEP WALKING, don't even look at them!

I had no idea dried kiwis could taste so good, so I bought them just to see. Unfortunately I found out that yes, they do.

10. Stay away from the mango nectar by the same manufacturer, then.
It is the most perfect liquid for smoothies I've ever found. Combine one can with one cup of Costco's fruit mix (the pineapple, mango, papaya strawberry one) and a cup of organic, plain yogurt. Add psyllium, soy powder, whey protein, or whatever and that's breakfast. Sweetens without getting sticky, has body and oh my god flavor. And all for 300 calories and no fat. (140 juice, 70 for fruit, 110 for yogurt.)

Yeah, baby.

12. Oh yeah, we get those.
They come in a slightly differed wrapper, but same company. They are covered in sugar you know. Hey, try them dipped in Nutella! :)

16. Sparkly, if you think those are addictive, try the dried cherries.
Have you found the dried Montmorency cherries? They are worse than a chocolate addiction.

17. Cherries are Sparkly's secret weakness.
Where mangonies are my passion, cherries are hers. Cherries in almost any form.

21. Just returned from Costco, have one of those in my possession
not opened yet though.

Even the checkout person commented on how good they are. I've got really high expectations now. I've had other dried mango.

Also got the dried kiwi, too, just to add insult to injury
