I need help. I need molasses for a gingerbread cookie recipe but I have non at home and I won't have time to stop at a grocery store after work. Can I subsitute it for something else? If so, what?
Thank you!!

1. Do you have any karo syrup or honey, and dark brown sugar? |
|
dark brown sugar is currently made by spraying white sugar with molasses, so some molasses flavour is resident. If you can heat a 50/50 blend of karo syrup or honey with dark brown sugar until the sugar dissolves that might work. It won't have the intense 'gingerbread' flavour though. That tends to come entirely from molasses.
