My local public TV station is driving me nuts! |

KCTS has a well deserved reputation for doing outstanding cooking shows as part of their fund-raising. Viewers send in recipes and then they pick a bunch of them and invite the viewers to demonstrate the preparation. They are doing salads this time--oh, man. I may need to rush to the grocery store! Asian creamy noodle salad, broccoli salad, a Mediterranean fish salad. I may be eating healthy soon!

1. I wish they'd do something like that here |
|
but instead they get that fat guy with the beard and that utterly witless, obvious non cook of a woman, and they do midwestern type fare, supposedly home cooking, but never in MY home. Ugh.
I'd be a lot more inclined to keep contributing if they'd can the "special programming," which is always inferior fare, and either present specials like you described or just run their regular shows.

2. Oh--we have great cooking shows here-- |
|
it is the only thing that can lure me to watch the tube during the day on Saturdays. I have adopted quite a few of the things I've watched TV cooks prepare. America's Test Kitchen is one of my faves. I don't have cable, so only hear about the food shows there from my daughter.

3. I wish we had that here |

We get the national shows, and I love them, but some local shows would be great. The SF bay area has some amazing food.
