Hmmmmmm...heirloom tomatoes. |
|
I went looking for some Amish Paste tomatoes yesterday and didn't find any so I had to "settle" for some Brandywines and Purple Cherokees. I'll look for the Amish Paste again today. Even though it would seem to be a good sauce tomato, it's actually one of the most delicious fresh eating tomatoes out there. Yum!

And two Purple Cherokees and a Brandywine, as long as I was there. :-)

I'll have to keep an eye out for Amish paste seeds. I'm still looking for the perfect paste tomato for the home garden. I'm growing a different purple tomato this year, Black Prince, and I have a funky heirloom called an oxheart because it's big and shaped like, well, an oxheart.

The Amish Paste is better. And don't just cook it; it's great to eat fresh, too. I also got a pint of ground cherries.
