What? No oyster stew recipes? Come on people - post 'em!! |
|
I figured there would be a string of them leading into Christmas...and now that there's only one oyster stew day left in the year, you better start popping them here.
Thanks!!
Our family recipe is to just warm up the oysters in their juices, then add milk and a lot of butter. Simmer for a long time. Put in fridge. Don't serve it until the next day. Serve with oyster crackers, more butter (if you're me or my uncle), and lots of pepper (if you're me or my uncle).

5. We did not have Worcestershire in our fridge |

So I approximated by mixing some molasses, mustard, ketchup, and salt. After tasting it to be sure it wasn't disgusting, I added it by the dribble, and our oyster stew turned out pretty good for a first try.
