did I just screw up my brownies?? they called for a cup of vegtable
oil and I only had 1/2 cup of canola, so I put olive oil in for the rest

Italian brownies anyone?

3. I bake w/ olive oil more than I let on to anyone.
Even my Mom (100% Italian) claims she can taste it but she only notices it when I tell her it's there. This is the lady who can tell if I salted the pasta water enough even after the pasta has been well sauced.

6. I can't believe it's not noticeable
unless it's a very light olive oil. I always use olive oil to cook most things, but never in baking.

11. Well, I don't use it in delicate recipes
But I've used it in rum cake, pizzeles and quick breads. So far so good.

12. triple fudge brownies with chocolate chunks and walnuts wouldn't
be mistaken for "delicate" any day of the week LOL

but they came out fine and taste yummy

Did you use a very light olive oil? I usually have extra virgin, cold pressed, in the house.
