Survey on new product today
I got one of "those" survey calls for a new product today. The concept is the same as a crock pot, but this thing will bar-b-que. This machine sits on the kitchen counter. It's electrical. The meat goes on the morning and cooks all day. The cost will be around $89.95.

Sounds interesting to me - what do you think?

1. is it a smoker? or a slow roaster?
don't think I need any more gadgets as I just spent the whole weekend "downsizing"

I sure like the kitchen now that I have room for everything tho LOL

3. Proably closer to a roaster
Sounds like it would be like comparing a slow cooker to another item. From what the surveyor said, it sits on the counter top, you put the meat in, and it will have the flavor of BBQ after hours of slow cooking. Ribs were mentioned. A recipe book included, of course.

I've downsized my kitchen, too (right along with the Feng Shui thread suggestions). I just about have it to where I can wipe the counters down in one sweep. I'm still working on a couple of the cabinets, but it feels so much better with every effort!

4. i got all the cabinets done this weekend EXCEPT the dreaded
kitchen "junk" drawer LOL

hung new valances, rearranged all my cupboards, cookware, spices, cookbooks and threw away a big black garbage bag of old teas, spices and weird coffee mugs that I haven't touched in years

decided to ebay a couple "vintage collectables" from Grammy's stuff

now I can reach everything, I don't have to move 4 pots to get to my dutch oven-- It's just wonderful

I made a big pot of beans and ham yesterday so I didn't even get to try it out tonight, but am making stuffed bell peppers tomorrow :bounce:

poor hubby was trying to contentrate on the football games, but ended up doing a lot of "Honey, I'm too short-- can you help me?" stuff

he's such a good guy :loveya:

5. Congratulations on your kitchen clean-up
You ought to start a new thread with all that accomplishment. Give us some inspiration. And about that junk drawer? Pffft! Piece of cake for you, now!

7. Good for you!
I haven't tackled all the cabinets yet, at least not the worst ones. I did tell my oldest daughter that I would be boxing up her grandmother's china and bringing it to her. She is really excited. I've used it so seldom that it is really just a space occupier. What is really cool is that my daughter's mother-in-law has the same pattern and it is now discontinued, so she could end up with a huge set to feed multitudes. Lucky her?

Have you looked at flylady.com lately? There's a great new year cleaning project on her site - makes it sound so simple.
