The Chef Boyar Dee stuff?

I use it and it's pretty good. Of course, I add stuff to it, since the cheese it comes with is not so great.

So confess, who else uses it?

(PS-it's great on a budget!)

2. Trader Joes makes great pizza crust
It's in the fridge section but it freezes well. I no longer bother to make my own dough. It's much better than the box stuff. Just use a good sauce from a jar, olive oil, some shredded mozzarella and toppings of your choice.

6. My Italian Grandfather
Was always taught to brush the dough with oil before you sauce it. It's what I was taught in my family and that's just the way I've always done it.

4. Ya hadda do it! Ya hadda say "Pizza", didn't you?
This is my personal holy grail .... the perfect Neapolitan pizza. There are only four or five places that I know of in the US that make sanctioned Pizza Napoletana. One of them, believe it or not, is the chain, Bertucci's. Everywhere I go, I look for more. I try to make it in my own kitchen (which is really an exercise in futility because the oven just ain't right).

http://www.verapizzanapoletana.org/vpn/charter.html

I make my dough from scratch. I make my toppings from scratch. I use fresh Buffala Mozzarella. I have a very special oven stone that weighs in excess of 20 lbs. But even with all of that, I don't quite make it. Having had the real deal in Italy, there's no comparison to anything in the US.

Having said all of that, I often buy frozen pizzas and pop 'em in the oven ......

What can I say? I try, but I ain't perfect!

5. I make my own crust
All it takes is some flour, water, olive oil, yeast and salt. I throw it into the bread machine and set it on the "dough" cycle. When it's done, I roll it out and add my toppings. Before I had the bread machine, I would knead it by hand. It takes a bit more planning, but it's very economical.

13. Sure!
For a 12 in pizza:

Ingredients:
5/8 c water
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2c white bread flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp rapid rise yeast

Pour water and oil in bread machine pan. Sprinkle flour over make sure you cover all the water. Put salt and sugar in opposite corners. Make a shallow indentation in the center of the flour, put yeast in it. Place pan in bread machine. Select small loaf size and dough cycle setting. At the end of the cycle, take it out and roll it out over a lightly floured surface.

Then from there it depends on how you like your pizza. I like mine baked on a stone, so I put some cornmeal on my peel and put the dough on top. Then I brush some olive oil and spread out some crushed garlic. Then I put on some tomatoes or tomato sauce. Then I add herbs like basil and oregano. I top it all with cheese and whatever toppings we're in the mood for.

I bake it on a preheated stone in the middle of the oven at 475 F for 10-12 minutes. Delish.

7. Yes, I have made the Chef Boyardee box pizza
And yes, I do like them. Some may call me weird, but I don't like pizza much. The only pizza I really like are these, the extremely cheap Totinos frozen pizza, and Pizza Corner pizza (you must be from North Dakota or in a nearby state to know what this is). I can't stand delivered pizza (except the thin crust from Domino's if I must choose).

I guess I am just weird. :D

9. I use frozen pizzas for my son
He likes plain cheese pizzas. I always grate extra cheese. If I make pizza at home, I use Bisquick, not out of the box stuff.

12. No
I make a beer dough in my bread maker (2lb). I use 1/2 lb and freeze remainder.

I unthaw and place on a piece of parchment paper. I put saran over and roll the dough, I like thin crust.

Take off the saran, trim the parchment to size and slide the crust onto the pizza peel, top and slide into oven.

14. I, too, use my bread machine
I like to put garlic, basil, oregano, and lots of pepper right into the dough. After rolling it out and plunking it in the pan, I pre-bake it for a few minutes, seems to help it cook through nicely.

Sometimes I go for the frozen, and when I do, it's the Pillsbury mini ones. I think it's the same as Totino's in the US. For some reason, I like to bake them for about half an hour, so they're almost burnt. Dunno why, that's just the way I like 'em.

16. I use frozen bread loaves for the dough
Let it set out and it will rise. Punch it down and flour it on a board and roll it out and make your pizza.
