What's you favorite "back-of-the-box" recipe?
We have been working with our local hazardous waste disposal unit this weekend as we get rid of the last of the holiday goodies leftovers. Among the items to go were some forgotten Toll House Cookies made by one Sparkly's piano students.

They put me in mind of the great recipe for these that's on the bag of Nestle's semi sweet chocolate chips. I think the recipe first appeared a week or two before the Spaniards were provisioning the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria for that big trip they had planned.

For me, these are the worlds best ever chocolate chip cookies ..... plain, simple, honest, soft, scrumptellyiscious. Every kid over the age of 6 can make them and they never fail to please.

What's your favorite "Back-of-The-Box" recipe?

2. Waaaaaaa, I can't find mine.
If anyone has it, I'd love to get a copy.

It's a Middle Eastern rice dish from Rice-a-Roni. I even e-mailed the company and THEY don't have it. I know I was making it before we moved to Texas 20 yrs ago. Where to find it...where to find it.

You start with a box of Rice-a-Roni (duh!!). I don't recall if it was beef or chicken. But you add the appropriate bouillon cube, onions, raisins, pine nuts, something green (probably parsley, could be mint) and there must be something else, cause I've tried all this and the combinations, it isn't the same.

Help me, cause now I'm drooling. Geez, first I loose the actual recipe, then my mental list, things don't taste like they did in the "olden days" and now I'm drooling, too. It's probably about time to invest in one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" alarms.

Mary

3. I'm ashamed to admit...
Seriously. I'm from a southern family (where food is king) that make biscuits from scratch. I do, too, most of the time.

So, if y'all promise not to tell ANYONE, I will reveal my favorite back-of-the-box recipe. It's a quick and dirty weeknight meal that I make about twice a year. Drum roll...

Bisquik's "Impossible Cheeseburger Pie." OK, OK, I've admitted it. Be gentle with me. ;-)

5. Mine is here:
It's not truly back-of-the-box, but only because I can't find Rice-a-Roni.

10. Next time try this
Along with the jalapeno add about a cup of corn (either canned or frozen). I also add a squirt of honey. Sometimes when I'm feeling really wicked I double the jalapeno and add a cup of cheddar along with the corn.

You will love it----I swear!
