How long does it take to heat a full crock pot? |
|
For Saturday's game I was going to make this chicken wing recipe that calls for par-boiling chicken wings and then dumping them into a crock pot with 1 cup Russian dressing, 1 12-oz jar apricot preserves, and a packet of onion soup mix. It sounds odd, but it's surprisingly good. I was thinking I could skip dirtying a pot by just putting the frozen wings into the crock pot ahead of time and cooking them on high until done. Then I'd drain off any gunky juice that may have collected and add the sauce stuff. Do you think it will be okay and how long does it take for a crock pot to cook a full load of something frozen? Three hours maybe?

I'm less concerned about time than I am about having to wash a pot. Thanks.

on low before you go to bed tonight and add the other ingredients in the morning? At least then it won't be a watched pot. ;)
