Meet the new intern in my kitchen.
Edited on Sun Mar-02-08 06:15 PM by hippywife
I know this isn't the pet group but I really wanted to share her with you all here. This little lady took up residence today and has been laying on/at my feet thru my Sunday cooking/baking routine. Oh, her name is Charlee.

The DH getting our dog, Babe, used to having a sister and letting her know she's not going to be loved any less:

Now I really gotta get back in the kitchen. Lots of things got delayed because of the new arrival! Prolly won't make it back here til much later tonight if at all.

and heading for bed but thanx, gang. She is a sweetheart. She still hasn't figured out that mom's feet are not a good place to lay when she's cooking. But I'm sure she will.

Nite all! :hi:

P.S. Thanx for indulging me here with this puppy post.

6. That's the second sweetest doggie face I've ever seen ......
.... the sweetest, of course, being our sweetie!

What kind of dogs are they? I can't place the black coat with the white chest.

7. The baby is a black lab mix of some kind.
Her mother was dumped off out here in the country while she was pregnant. Nine in the litter! Eeeek!
I don't know about Babe, either. She was dumped in our driveway when she was about 6 months old or so. I hate that people do that but we've been very lucky to have gotten some really great dogs when they do that.

8. Wow! From the picture they could both be the same breed
The puppy looks like a miniature of the bog dog ...... except *may* the puppy looks like she'll be a bit bigger and more stout (big paws and forelegs).

10. I would guess Lab and Pointer mix
In our part of the country (hippywife and I live about 50 miles from each other) a lot of hunters have both Labs and English Pointers. There is a lot of "breeding" going on, intentional and unintentional. I have seen many like this. The mix makes for the sweetest disposition. I have been around a lot of Labs and English Pointers and the disposition is the same.

And to keep it on a Cooking & Baking vein; Furkids like the type pictured above prefer a little Salted Water for Boiling prepared and a tablespoon poured over their kibble, then cooled to a paltable temperature before presentation.

11. They do look alike.
I think sazemisery may be right about the lab/pointer mix. Not really sure. At some angles the bigger dog's head looks a little squarish so there may be some pit in there somewhere. But she really is a sweet and loyal dog.

Charlee is on time-out in the bathroom because she's been chewing on everything in sight. I did bring her home a chew toy and a soft baby to cuddle with at night.

12. Adorable! Unfortunately my intern can't be trusted
A presumable boxer/hound mix, he steals everything from the counter. We now keep all food in the oven (when off), on top of the fridge, any place he can't reach.

Those guys are cuties. If I didn't have 5 dogs, I'd get one of them.

16. My intern is an eleven year old kitty who can smell fresh leafy greens
from the other room and gets up by the sink to try to steal them from the colander.......
