How do you sharpen a bread knife? I can't use mine any more |

Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 10:49 AM by yy4me
because it is so dull. My knives are not fancy but they do the job-except for the cerated(how do you spell that, anyway?) knife. I might just as well try and cut bread with a mallet. Any suggestions? I have a Chef's Choice electric that I use for all the regular knives. Is there no hope the this one?

1. I broke down and bought that Rachel Ray electric sharpener. |

It actually has a setting for serrated blades.
And it works.

2. Your Chef's Choice will work fine |
|
The only dull part is the tips of the serration. This is also the only part that will come in contact with the abrasive on your sharpener.
You know that you may have to work extra hard the first time you put a given knife on that sharpener, right? It has to grind away the old knife edge profile and establish its new one.
