This probably belongs in the gardening forum, but here goes:
I've been out of the house and in my apartment since late October and FINALLY got around to buying some pots and potting soil and fertilizer for my balcony garden..........and a little rosemary plant, and a little Celebrity tomato plant, and some seeds (pot basil, pot slicing cuke, pot buttercrunch lettuce, and Italian parsley. YAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!

Kestrel is gonna start producing some of her own food again!!!!!!

Of course it's over 100 again today........but I figured if I waited it was only gonna get worse. The heat wave (second this month) is due to break by Tuesday, then I'll start the seeds.

MMMMMMMM, fresh tomatoes and basil slivers.......I wonder if I could fit a water buffalo out there and milk it and make my own fresh buffalo mozzarella, too.........hm - probably the manager would nix that.

2. I did spring mix in a pot on my patio one year.
Big success! The fresh stuff is so much better than store bought. This year I am doing a tomato vine, mini-cucumber and basil in pots as well as in the garden.

I have figured out a plan to make self watering tomato planters for next year. The problem with patio vegetables is the containers dry out so quickly in the hot weather!

3. About your Rosemary plant, I hope you realize they can get extremely BIG
So, just make sure you have a large enough container and dedicated just to the plant.

LA, is having a heat wave?.?.? :wow: Who would've ever thought LA could become Texas:rofl:

4. You're making me hungry

I have my squashes, tomatoes, and peppers planted. This weekend, I hope to plant some herbs. In another week or two, I'll plant my pole beans.

If you're gardening on a deck, have you tried an Earthbox? They work great for me.
