Not sure how many people are constantly active here - maybe 20. But what if we could find some kind of legal arrangement and all chip in and buy Julia Child's house? It's listed for 4.5 million, attractive for me (I confess) because I work in Cambridge right around the corner more or less, but wow - what a great place. Subzero freezers?
That listing should have a triple-x rating, or maybe it's just us cooks that reach near-orgasmic levels reading it.

1. You probably know more... |
|
What listing were you reading? I had to google and it seems the house was donated to Smith College and the kitchen went to the Smithsonian. Now the house is for sale again. *I* would love to go in on this! It looks like an amazing house.

4. I had to think for a second |

At first, I thought you meant the Central Intelligence Agency, then I realized you meant the Culinary Institute of America.
It's a nice thought, but it's a lot of frickin' money for a shrine, and if I remember correctly, the CIA is in upstate New York. There is some school in the Boston area, I forget which. Anyway, I don't think it's a practical investment for a school, but what if you could buy it and then rent it out? I think I'd pay to spend a weekend there. Unfortunately I think you'd need to generate about $20k/month to pay for it (speaking business-wise).
