Hey Shakespeare, sardines!
You mentioned a while back you wanted to start eating sardines.

I admit I hadn't thought about them in a long time, a treat I used to love as a child. Anyway, because we had that thread, the last time I was at the store I picked up some sardine tins, skinned, deheaded and packed in olive oil. I take a tin to lunch now a couple of times a week. They make an excellent lunch with salad and a little mustard on top.

:9 :9

I just wanted to tell you you had an excellent idea.

1. Oh!
I bought a couple of tins--one with the skinned/deheaded, and one of regular in mustard, but I still haven't tried them yet. I may have to give it a try in a salad this week!

2. I absolutely LOVE sardines. I was ecstatic to find one of the big
oval tins of sardines in tomato sauce at Gelson's for only $1.89 last week. That's not much money for that many sardines.......at least in this area. I should have bought all of them.

Sometimes if I am lucky I can find the little rectangular tins of them in oil or mustard sauce or tomato sauce at the 99c Store. The ones in mustard sauce are my fave.

I have wanted to get ahold of fresh sardines to try some recipes out with, but I don't know where to get them.
