My birthday date meal!
I outdid myself last night. I cooked for a new beau and this was the menu for my birthday:

Appetizer:

Sundried tomato pesto palmiers

Main course:

Pan-seared duck breast with pepper and citrus/tea sea salt

Wild mushroom collection sauteed in duck fat with S&P, a splash of worchestershire sauce, and a splash of the red wine he brought over to drink.

Mixed greens salad topped with cranberries and walnuts with red wine & olive oil vinagrette.

Dessert:
Tangerine sorbet with almond lace cookies and dark chocolate filling.

:9 :9 :9 :D

Not a cookie/pastry person.

Oh, and congratulations on your new beau!

2. Thanks!
It seems to be fun right now anyway.

The palmiers are simple. There's really good frozen puff pastry dough now and that's what I used. Mostly they are dessert cookies, but I like the savory version too. :-)

4. Check your local Whole Foods
it's their house brand. 365. ;-)

Really delicious. I like it better than regular orange sherbet.
