Much as I love 'em, I have trouble eating peanuts. Don't really care for potato chips, popcorn and such. I found this to be a good dry, in the hand snack - Cheerios, raisins, diced dried apricots. Upgrade with a V8, a yogurt and some cheese and it's a meal...add some french bread and it's a cult film...add a glass of wine and it's Cannes. :-)

1. I don't like salty snacks |
|
A crunchy snack for me is a handful of frosted mini shredded wheat or a rice cake. If I want something really sweet, I eat a strip or two of dried mango from Costco (one of their best things, IMO).
I bought some "healthy" microwave popcorn a few months ago. Stuff was so damn salty, I couldn't manage to eat it.

3. Have you tried any of the freeze dried fruit chippy thingies |
|
I've tried the apple, pineapple, mangostein and mango. I can't for the life of me remember the brand but they are just lovely. I think I got them at Trader Joes but my sister told me she found them in her local grocery back east. I'm sure Whole Paycheck will carry them.
When I was able to snack I loved to dump a half box of raisnettes into warm popcorn. Loved that sweet/salty thing.
Of course if I had my druthers it would be bowls of sour cream/onion potato chips with onion dip or chocolate chocolate chip Haagen Daz (slightly melty) to dip them in.

4. Used to make my own snack mix. |
|
Chex cereal, dry-roasted peanuts, chocolate and/or butterscotch bits, and raisins. When I worked in an office, I kept a container in my desk.
Now that I work at home, my favorite snack is fresh apple or cucumber slices to dip in homemade peanut sauce (equal parts peanut butter and a spicy/sweet french dressing or citrus/ginger stir-fry sauce, warmed to blend)... or sometimes popcorn.
