home-made ginger beer?
Anyone had experience (successfully) making home-made ginger beer? Or root beer?
I'm interested in a low-alcohol recipe, one that does not involve exploding bottles.

To prepare, I'm occasionally buying Grolsch, for the bottles.

2. Haven't made root beer yet...
:hi:
..but I've had the home-brewed stuff, and lemme tellya-

Once you've had real home-brewed root beer, the store-bought stuff will never taste quite as good again.

4. How about just strong home-made ginger ale?
In the natural foods section of my supermarket, there's a couple of types of ginger brews (non-alcoholic).

Nothing better after coming in from clearing the snow out of the driveway... Damned good stuff.

I'm happy buying it, but would be interested in making my own.

5. Probably not the right way, but...
sassafras trees grow like weeds, so we pulled up some shoots and saplings and scraped the roots. Made a tea from the scrapings as a flavoring to add to club soda.

It worked, and sure tasted like good root beer, but I'd look into it more before doing it again. Only did it once, and that was when a friend came out and did most of the work. I wasn't watching all the time.

6. Even though I only drink
water these days, those are two of my favorite things to drink. I can almost taste them. I would love to hear of any experiences, too! :9
