Broccoli Salad...this is delicious!!!!!!!!! |
|
Annette's Broccoli Salad
1 large head Broccoli, chopped; 1 bunch green onions, chopped; 1/2 lb. bacon, fried and chopped (she uses their very own hickory smoked); 1 cup sliced almonds; 1 cup raisins or grapes.
Combine and add Poppy Seed Dressing: Dressing: 3/4 cup sugar; 1 tsp. dry mustard; 1 tsp. salt; 1/3 cup vinegar, white or cider; 1 cup salad oil; 1 1/2 Tbsp. poppy seed. Put first 4 ingredients in bowl; beat with whisk, add oil beating until thick. Stir in poppy seed.
NOTE: These two recipes are separate. The salad may not need all the dresing. Dressing keeps well in fridge for days, can be used with salad greens and fruit and croutons. Annette Gill

1. Here's another one--very easy |
|
1 bunch broccoli 1 head cauliflower 4 or 5 strips of bacon crumbled 1 bunch green onions chopped Good brand of Ranch dressing---We use Marie's
Chop broccoli and cauliflower and green onion into fine bits. (I use one of those hand choppers but you can also pulse in a food processor--You don't want to chop too fine that you have no real texture tho)
Add crumbled bacon bits
Dress with Ranch Dressing
(Options: I've added crumbled blue cheese, cheddar cheese, sun dried tomatoes to this with success.)

Red cabbage is great in this recipe and is also very festive looking during the holidays.
