I've been playing with beer bread flavors. I ran across this recipe linked below, while I was looking for a beer-rye recipe. I had a bag of self rising flour in the pantry (we picked it up accidentally instead of AP) so I decided to try this:

My first loaf was a VERY bitter, but beautiful looking thing I made with Guinness Extra Stout.

This last loaf, with Dos Equis, was much better bitterness-wise. I added a little molasses, ginger and cinnamon to the base recipe. It smelled great, but I still wasn't crazy about it as "BREAD" - so I hacked it into thick slices and made french toast with it. The texture of this bread as toast is amazing. It gets crispy and has a creamy center. I think next time I'll increase the molasses, ginger and cinnamon.

I have several recipes that we love that were accidental discoveries. Our favorite pizza dough happened when I was trying to make focaccia. Anyone else find "keeper "recipes that way?
