Whats for Dinner? ~ Thursday the 26th |
|
We were given some really nice salmon, so I'm going to do some sort of parchment baked salmon tonight. I'm recipe hunting now. :)
Not sure about the details or side dishes yet.
What's for dinner where you are?

3. Lucky! I love Mexican food. |
|
What dishes do you usually order? We don't go out much anymore, but when we did, I would get in weird cycles. I think I had fajitas every time for two years. LOL

4. Awww. I hope its not too painful. |

Bill is the soup maker around here :) and we keep talking about making some but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm a little chilly right now. A nice warm bowl of potato soup sounds perfect.

6. That's the way I would have done it too. A nice sized breakfast and something soft for dinner... |

I never feel much like eating after dental work. Hopefully the soreness will drop off quickly.

7. One of my husband's favorites: Mac and Cheese |
|
Mine is his mother's recipe
1 1/2 white American cheese, sliced 1 lb. macaroni about 1/4 C milk 2 or 3 T butter Garlic salt pepper
Boil noodles, drain. Layer half of noodles, dot with half the butter, top with half of cheese. Splash with half of milk. And the rest of noodles, garlic salt, cheese, splashe milk, then dot with rest of butter, sprinkle with pepper.
Bake at 360 for about 30 minutes.
He goes nuts whenever I make this! :9

11. Well...I'm not having salmon tonight after all. |

I will be making the, now thawed, salmon for lunch tomorrow though.
I just got a cryptic call from Bill, and he's bringing something home for dinner. Very mysterious. :D
It's likely something from our local pub. He was working on repairing some wind damage in that complex today. They do some great British pub style dishes, but we also love their pizza and burgers. I'm betting it will be pizza, or mushroom swiss burgers. NO cooking and cleanup for us tonight!

Do you know about the headache pressure point on your hand?
Time: 2-3 minutes
Benefits: A major point in Chinese acupuncture and acupressure therapy; moves your qi (vital energy) and blood – according to Chinese medical theory pain is basically regarded as a blockage of qi and or blood flow; this point relieves head and face pain, e.g. headache, toothache, sinus pain.
How: The point is located on both hands, about 3-4cm (1.5 inches) in from the edge of the webbing between your thumbs and index fingers. Put your left thumb on the right hand point and your left index finger on the other (palm) side of the webbing to create a pinching technique. Squeeze and massage the point in very small circular movements for 1-2 minutes. Repeat on the other hand. Tips: Press and knead these points anytime you have pain in your head or face; close your eyes and focus on the points as you press them.
I've used this for years. If he'll try it, tell him he's found th right spot when it feels "sore' when he pinches it...I usually concentrate on the hand with the sore spot first.

I don't know if he'll do it or not but it's worth a shot. He is eating his soup now so that's good. Wanted to get something in his stomach with that advil.
He thinks he's coming down with something one of his co-workers has had for a few days now. His throat is starting to feeling a little sore. Should I put my hands around it and pinch? I keed, I keed.
Gads! The second kitten has now gone into heat, too. It's quite the night around here.

The neck things would solve his sore throat problems but I'm not sure if they'd let you bake in prison. So that's a negative. And do you wear orange jumpsuits well? Just a few things to consider....

17. One word : restaurant. |
|
Thai, probably. We're trying to support our local family owned joints during the recession.
I'd love to have some nice salmon though.

We have a couple of local places we like, but not too many. It's pretty much tourist fare around here.

19. Pork pot pies that I froze a couple of weeks ago |
|
The 4 minute prebake recommended for the crust turned out well. Also, thanx for all the pie crust tips--it turned out not superflaky, but way better than the overly tough product I always wound up with before.
