And I don't recall seeing it on TV, but the package says AS SEEN ON TV! so it must be so.
I needed a new vegetable peeler so on impulse I saw one in the drugstore and bought it. $9.99. The Samurai Peeler. I guess when they weren't off fighting on their warlord's behalf, the Samurai peeled vegetables.
It's not the peeler itself that is so amazing, it is the fact that it comes with a little platform that transforms the peeler into a mini-mandolin. OMG! I happen to love cucumber salad - thinly sliced with onions and a little soy, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and Bob's your uncle! Well friends, (may I call you friends?), this little gizmo will slice paper thin slices of English cucumber the likes of which you have never seen. I also like to make a quick slaw with cukes, carrots, onions and cabbage - same lightening results.(I dress that with red wine vineger, salt, sugar, garlic, pepper and a little oil)
I think I could find a new career standing on street corners demonstrating this thing.

1. I saw that on TV by accident yesterday |

I think it was called a different name, but it did the same thing you described. I thought it looked like it would be good, even though it was an infomercial.
Now I think I may have to go find one!
