What's the deal with Eggo® waffles?
In the frozen food case at the local Safeway there was a photocopied sign taped to the door mentioning a short term nationwide shortage of Eggo brand frozen waffles.

What's up with that?

Listeria, is what.

Plant closures, recalls, plant cleanings ....... not good for Kellog's, huh?

3. Between this and the Canned Pumpkin shortage
It's surely the harbinger of the End Times.....:scared: :scared: :scared:

Commercial Foods all been going downhill since Thomas stopped making the Date Nut Bread. And don't even get me started on the reformulation of Quaker Natural Cereal.

6. We're boycotting Stella D'Oro Stink
They're union busting. I think they just decided to close down their factory that was striking. Evil Bastards....Can't even have a decent cookie anymore without some corporatist bastard ruining it.

16. I kinda miss those, too,
but for sentimental reasons. My gran used them to make little fake cream puffs by cutting them in half, and putting a mixture of whipped cream, cream cheese and crushed pineapple in between the two pieces. :)

5. canned pumpkin shortage?
I guess that explains why I had to buy a can of organic pie filling that made an awful, horrible pie.

7. Yes last years harvest was ruined
The canned pumpkins we can get now are from last years crop which failed due to heat. From what I understand this years crop is not doing better so buy pumpkin when ever you see it. I'm stocking up because I enjoy it as a "fruit" mixed with my morning oatmeal or in smoothies. I couldn't even find a can until October and now all I'm seeing are the smaller Organic cans which I'm OK with.

13. A flood at their Atlanta plant
and repairs at their TN bakery...

conspire to take Eggo's out of circulation.

A few years ago it was Tickle Me Elmo. Before that, the Cabbage Patch Kids.

This year, Eggos.

Get 'em while you can! Or get a waffle maker and enjoy the joys of cooking your own!

14. Van's frozen waffles are available at my Kroger store. They're
usually available at natural foods stores and come in a variety of flavors. My favorite is buckwheat. They're so crispy and full of flavor, and, best of all, they're egg-free.
