I am baking a pie this afternoon: kestrel's Holiday Apple Pie.
It's just a regular apple pie with a cup of fresh cranberries and a half cup or so of pecan pieces thrown in.

My crust is made with butter and lard, of course. When I rolled it out, it still had some sizeable bits of butter visible, so I know it's gonna be nice and flaky.

I have a morbid fear of over-mixing my pie crust dough and making it like the shoe leather my mom called pie crust....

1. Sounds good to me!
I love apple pie. I love cranberries. I love pecans. LOL

I'm going to probably spend the day baking tomorrow.

Enjoy your pie. :hi:

2. The verdict is in:
ZOMG!!!! It's great! This was actually an experiment - I haven't made it before.

And the crust is my best, flakiest ever! I really didn't mix or handle it much at all. that's the secret.
