Anyone up for a challenge? I made a nice yeast type coffee |
|
cake with a hazel nut filling. The filling is something I bought in Switzerland and is very rich. the problem is that I made the filling too thick and the cake is too rich for most tastes. Think marzipan, but with hazel nuts. A little goes a long, long way.
So , i have half a coffee cake left, about 3 cups of bread with 1 cup of hazel nut filling. I'd like to use this as an ingedient in another recipe to cut the richness. Bread pudding?

1. Bread pudding was my first thought, but since you already thought of that... |

How about French Toast? Dip the cake in a nice eggy batter and thin the filling with something a little less sweet like orange juice and add a little butter to make a sauce?
