time to put away the chocolates.
I gained six pounds over the holidays! The kids came home for Christmas and I made butter cookies and coffeecakes and all the goodies. Had too much yummy stuff sitting around the house in dishes to grab as we'd walk by--it adds up! Not so much eating more as eating higher-fat food. Me bad! :(

My husband's put on a few too. We won't throw away all the extra cookies and candy left over, but will put it away and strictly ration it now. There is a smart way to eat treats but we haven't been doing it.

Getting in a few extra walks wouldn't hurt either. I do get on my exercise bike 5-6 times a week (really enjoy it) but these pounds have got to go!

1. Well, I didn't gain any weight ...
But I sure didn't lose any, either, and I definitely ate some things I shouldn't be eating, including candy and a few glasses of regular Coke and Pepsi. And, to top it off, I was the biggest offender -- made an apple/cinnamon cheesecake with a gingersnap crumb crust and a caramel-praline topping for Christmas. It was TOO rich, I ate a small slice and didn't feel so good afterwards. It was tasty, but about half of it didn't get eaten, so I fed it to my garbage-gullet chickens. Recycled into eggs and fertilizer for next year's garden, so far from a total waste.

So, it's back to a lighter diet in my household, too.

2. oh yes...

we too have seen the numbers rise.
The problem was twofold here - we made lots more sweets and every meal was big and beautiful and complete...

Smaller meals, our new Wii Fit, and keeping a food diary will get us back on track. (I hope)

:pals: I'm there with ya!

3. I gained about 2.5 lb, but then I have had a hellacious cold and laryngitis for over a week
and haven't been getting mn any walking or biking for almost 2 weeks, what with the holiday rush and all.

Once the cold is OVER and I can do my 5x a wk 2.5 miles, on top of my daily 1 mile or so, I should be good. I just don't quite feel like it yet.
