when I have checked the "log in automatically" on my sign-in. It didn't used to do this. What is up with this?

something wrong with their cookies maybe? I don't know. Like it remembers your name and the "keep signed in" box is still checked, but it says "re enter password"? Mine too...

I think Hotmail uses "per session" cookies that are cleared on shutdown. So if you are going back in to the site the authentication is already stored in the cookies folder. Hotmail recognises you. Try logging in with cookies enabled, come out of the site, then try it with cookies disabled and you won't be allowed in, even if you insert the log/pass info.
Windoze also stores p/w's sometimes depending on how you are configured. Big security risk.
