Anyone have experience with Copernic Agent or Copernic Desktop Search? |
|
Just heard about them from a friend the other night and would appreciate any opinions or comments. I'm particularly interested in any information anyone may have on privacy issues. http://www.copernic.com/index.html

Maybe 5 years ago I used Copernic for a while. It wasn't a desktop search engine back then, just the web. It was pretty good, and very fast, something I appreciated in those days when I had a sludgy 28K dialup.
I'm trying to remember where I saw it, I think it was on Slashdot -- there was an article that did a head to head comparison of local search software. Copernic bested all of them in features and performance, including Google's program.

It ties in to a ton of search engines worldwide, and you can independently configure all that if needed. I've used it for several years, and it's been invaluable-- it can be a lot more specific than your typical Google search.
