Bloggers and Readers... What colors do you prefer to diplay your text?

I've preferred to have a light colored background for my text, which is nested in a box against a darker (same color) background and contrasting colors in the side boxes for the menus. Think light tan/dark tan/blue.

However, I notice that most of the blogs I read (http://atrios.blogspot.com/) being the exception, all use white for their main text background. What is your preference?

BTW, here's a great site to learn how to use CSS to create columns, rather than the "table" tags:

2. I hate white bkgs, and I hate white print on dark bkg, too.

check out my blogspot skin (under the burning bush).

I manipulated the colors in the pre-existing skin.

Now they're much easier on the eyes.
