I thought I could FINALLY create something without having to ask...
a question. Nope.

I'm trying to create a video. A basic video, nothing fancy, using stock photos and video.

I selected a video and a few photo images at istockphoto, and after researching free video editing/publishing sites, decided to go with jumpcut.com.

So, I am in the process of downloading the video from istockphoto and the format options are QUICKTIME, WMV AND MP4.

(Remember, I'm fairly clueless about computer stuff)

Then I go to Jumpcut to see which formats they accept, planning to use Quicktime since, from what I read, that is the most universal format and can easily be edited.

Nope, Jumpcut only accepts: asf, avi, divx, flv, mpg, mp4, mov and wmv. I only recognize MP4 and WMV. Are perhaps one of the others Quicktime but known as a different name?

I want to be able to edit, add basic special effects, music, etc. to the video and photos I download into a movie at jumpcut. (that should be a real trip for this novice...lol)

What format do you recommend I download from at istockphoto?

I thought I had finally stumbled upon creating something cool and it was all laid out, nice and neat, and I wouldn't have to come here to ask questions. No such luck. I sure am glad you guys are here though.

:headbang:

1. I can't answer all your questions
Or any, really, but I can point you to a nice piece of software that I've started using lately, and it may prove helpful to you.

http://www.cocoonsoftware.com/

It converts media formats. So, if you *have* to produce your project in a format other than what you want it to be as a final format, this is a useful tool.

So go ahead! Be creative! Have fun! And then just convert it to what you want.
