So Tigerdirect.com has bought (what's left of) CompUSA.

They've reopened one store in Dallas, and a few select others in other cities. Looks like it's in the nature of an experiment right now- some good prices on multimedia stuff, and some basic 'puter accessories at fair prices, but not an amazingly varied selection as of yet. Still, I was able to pick up a 2 station KVM box for a client that cost me just twenty bucks.

I don't know how long they'll last where they are- there's a Fry's just around the corner. It's kinda like opening up a Mickey D's around the corner from a five star gourmet restaurant. In any case, good luck to them and their employees- I talked to them for a few minutes, and it's obvious they're all grateful for their jobs.
