I have a gateway laptop and I am getting a message that drive D is almost full |
|
I can't find drive D in any help menu. My hard drive is drive C. I would like to see what is in drive D to delete it but it tells me not to remove any files because it will ruin my recovery point and it wont let me see what is in there.
I know when this happened. I was trying to import all my music from my ipod to then download it to my new mac. It didn't work because of the way itunes is so I thought I deleted the music folder, but apparently it is on drive D, whatever that is, and I can't get to it to delete it. If anyone knows a fix for this please post. Thanks in advance.

1. Is your iPod close to being full? |
|
They can be set up to act as a hard drive; when you connect it, it might be assigned the D: drive letter.
Otherwise try this: Click Start -> Run. Enter "cmd" in the box and click OK. This opens a command window. In the window type:
d: <then press ENTER> dir <ENTER>
You will get a listing of the files on D:. Maybe that will help you identify the drive.

right-click the start menu and choose "explore"
Scroll down until you see D: and see what it is. It might be where your system restore files are located. If the size is less than what windows needing to save restore points, you can change how many backups you are keeping to solve this. It may bee set to use the entire space, in which case you can ignore the message altogether, because you are filling it on purpose.
