Anyone here ever used the 'Norton Removal Tool'?

I want to remove the trial copy of everything from Symantec off of a Vista Home Premium machine and I'd like to know ahead of time what I might possibly run in to. I never have cared much for Norton and just don't want it on this machine.

Thanks in advance. :hi:

1. I agree with you on removing anything Norton
RegSeeker: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm This is a good program for helping you to ferret out and remove little bits left here and there in the registry by programs such as symantec's crap does. it has a good 'find in registry' feature that I use all the time to get rid of the last tidbits of removed programs. Its a good registry cleaner also and it makes backups just in case you want to undo something. This program along with windows advanced search and you should be able to find everything so you can get rid of it.

2. I have used the Norton removal tool with good results.
I also made sure I had a regcleaner (CCleaner) to get rid of any other surprises in the registry that Norton didn't remove. There wasn't much left.

3. I had to run it once
To remove an old copy of Norton antivirus from a friend's machine. It seemed to run ok, no problems or big questions and then I was able to install the new AV.
